PocketBoot brings up enough hardware to find another operating system and enter it through kexec. It assembles a small Linux kernel and Rust init into an Android boot image. Our SouveraineOS work uses a fork of Sam Day’s upstream PocketBoot, with its upstream authorship retained.
In SouveraineOS it belongs to the boot and recovery work around supported phone profiles. It is not an operating-system installer on its own: partition inventory, the intended root filesystem, calibration custody and approval for writes remain separate responsibilities.
Current publication boundary
The upstream repository currently supplies no license. This page documents the work and credits its origin; it does not offer a source mirror or binary. Attribution alone does not supply redistribution permission.
What remains open
- Public source mirroring, binaries and packages remain withheld pending upstream licensing permission.
- Boot success on a development body does not establish a general recovery or installation path.
