Reading order

If you’re new to Souveraine, read in this order. Each document assumes you’ve read the ones before it.

  1. SouveraineOS overview — start with the body: the distribution, device profile and session contract around the substrate.
  2. Architecture — processing positions, memory territories, compaction and the nervous system.
  3. Session authority — why a personal device needs one authority for lock, idle, step-up and sleep.
  4. Design rationale — why continuity, typed action, named authority and finite conditions shape the system.
  5. Implementation notes — a dated account of what runs and which seams remain open.
  6. Federation sketch — the peer path and the commissioning work still ahead.
